Sam’s card from last week made me start craving some baking of cake. And some eating of cake.
Simple cake recipe out of an old cookbook, whose frosting I have made several times, but never the cake.
They were meant to be together. Caramel frosting. Banana cake. Pecans.
Pecans in between the layers, and on top instead of in the cake batter, please and thank you:
Drippy warm caramel frosting …
Cake baking tip: grease pan bottoms — line with parchment or waxed paper — grease top of paper — do not grease sides of pan — flour and tap out excess. Cool 10 minutes after baking, before removing. Perfect exit every time.
Bake, assemble, eat.
Enjoy your slice of this little 6″ cake I made. I’d share if you were here with me… maybe!
