Just taking a day to feature the work of one of my favorite up and coming artists.
My son. Sam’s brother. On a recent visit I raided his apartment and got his help taking some pics of what he had on the walls.
Patterns only, with pen (l) to copy the photo (r) …
Whether he is playing in color or forced to use black and white, he’s having some fun being creative! (The spider one creeps me out every time, but I want to make a quilt based on the cut paper buildings.)
Color blocking — much, much simpler than this — was what started his experiences with acrylics. He says it is still a fave and goes through lots of masking tape…
This one was an assignment to create a game board…
My growing collection of old books to tear up for mixed media art and art journaling inspired him. Now I have to hide my books ;) Actually, now we share each other’s finds. Somewhat begrudgingly LOL! Portrait in torn paper…
Currently studying art in college, he is also exploring things like ceramics, sculpture, art history and the rest. But he loves some brilliant acrylics or spray paints!
And saving one of the best for last. This tiny acrylic (10″ x 10″?) draws a lot of attention…
Not perfect photos by any means, but I hope you enjoyed the art show of Robert’s work!
