Egg Week: White Patterns on Colored Eggs!

White Patterned Easter Eggs_0001

Easter!  And eggs!!

I LOVE decorating Easter eggs!  Love, love, LOVE it… so it was my idea to have a whole EGG week here on the blog for our April challenge!

Lately we’ve been getting farm-fresh eggs from a friend of mine, so I wanted to feature some of the brown and green colored eggs that fill half the cartons I get from her!

I mean, they are pretty darn pretty straight out of the carton!  Dark brown speckles and olive tones… so a traditional egg dying might’ve looked weird… who knows how those colors would’ve been on already colored eggs.

Plus, like I said… these are already pretty darn cute!

Enter: my white gel pen.

Yup, you heard me right, I grabbed my trusty white Sakura Gelly Roll pen that I usually use for scrapbooking and went to town on my colored eggs!

Lines and swirls and patterns and little crosses (<<it is the reason for the season, peeps!)

My biggest tip: if your eggs have been in the fridge you need to let them come to room temperature first, otherwise they’ll condensate while you are drawing on them… and well, that just doesn’t work very well.

And now, I’m going to fully enjoy these pictures, because I’m about to peel most of these and turn them into tomorrow’s lunch!

Happy 2Create Egg Week!
