A few years ago, I came across a line of stencils at my local craft store (where I worked — I came across everything!)
The Instant Images stencil sets don’t seem to be available anywhere online right now, or I would share a link with you :( In any case, I became enthralled with the level of detail you could achieve with the mix/match/layer techniques these stencil sets were designed for.
You might have noticed that I love the small details :) A lot.
I sat down one night with this floral stencil set, several colors of fucshia-related pink colors, a yellow and a teal — all the colors of my sewing room — and had a great time doing the mixing, matching, and layering!
This little box, about a 5 inch cube, originally held a bunch of silk Gerbera daisies, but now I think it might become a pen or brush holder when I finally get my ~studio~ set up with separate work areas for sewing and crafting.
The stencil sets even had several borders.
Still using the ~ around the word studio, because it doesn’t quite qualify yet. Soon!
I know it is not too fun to show you projects made with supplies that might be discontinued (waaaah, I want more!) but I hope you enjoyed seeing my bright colors and flowers today!
Meanwhile, I still love this color scheme. I use mostly solid colors… not using patterns and prints is really hard for me, but I can enjoy the pure colors and have visually calm places in my big mess :) A touch of black accent helps make it feel solid.
One day you’ll see it! Promise!
