When I worked at the craft store a few years ago we had one, count it, ONE adult coloring book, and we’d get requests for them all the time. I wanted one, too… I love to color! Now you can find them everywhere and I am super excited about it!!!
In fact, I had decided to get Mom and myself some matching ones since we’ve both been coloring lately (here and here) and when I went to look I had dozens to choose from! I decided on one that had lots of pages and that has quotes about creativity! Perfect for us creative ladies! So a couple of weeks ago we picked a page and I issued a coloring challenge! And here are the results! Mine is the rainbow, and Mom’s features blues and greens! (duh, should’ve figured she’d feature green.)

I love how cohesive Mom’s is. That the softer colors really make the bright blues and greens grab your attention and bring your eyes up and around toward the Picasso quote. And I love that she really lightly shaded in the background design with lighter versions of the colors she used. I honestly could not figure out what to do with those and not draw away from the other stuff I had going on so I left them white.

And my favorite part of mine… that rainbow effect turned out way cooler than I imagined it could! And thank goodness I took photos of the colored pencils lined up in order because Abbi disturbed them more than once trying to grab them and color everything else in the room. *sigh*
Looking forward to coloring a few more of these with mom in the future!
