So excited to get some surprise mail today! I’m not sure when my recent pre-order was actually supposed to arrive — maybe this week, actually — but I was not expecting it just yet. But here it is in all its glorious pinkness: the newly released Tula Pink Coloring Book!
Filling the perfect need for those of us who love nature inspired fabrics AND to color, this fabric designer has put together a fantastic book for us: 75 single-sided pages that easily tear out, printed on paper that doesn’t bleed any of the 3 kinds of markers I used on my first page, nice bright (but not blinding) white paper that is sturdy but not stiff…
I ask you, what more could you want? Oh, maybe 75 more? I think so! I’m already hoping there’s another volume in the future.
My palette of markers for the project below: some Memento, Tombow, Marvy Le Plume II, and Sakura Glaze pens.
There are geometrics included in the book, too, and fully filled pages. A few creatures appear, and some pages are inked with heavy lines. That means there is a good variety for whatever kind of coloring mood you might be in.
I was in the mood to test the waters with something easy and swirly and there it was! “Feather Paisley” from the Nest collection of Tula Pink fabrics. I might be done, and I might not. I couldn’t decide whether to color in that outside border or color the background of the page so I stopped until something seemed right.
Here’s the Tula Pink Coloring Book on amazon.com, and if you want to see more images, just do a google search for the book and select the Images tab.
I might soon have to start replacing markers here at my house…
