Cougar Car Seat Cover!

“Fight, Fight, Fight for Washington State…”

What better way to start a post than with the fight song from where I went to college?

Oh… and where my hubby went.  Oh… and my parents.  Oh… and my sister….

Let’s just say the ‘Coug’ spirit runs high in our family!

And our daughter — who is still refusing to make her appearance, even though due date has now come and gone — will undoubtedly grow up knowing those words, and loving the crimson and grey color scheme!

At least she better, since I just made her a carseat cover with those colors!  (Also, because it coordinated well with the stroller and carseat itself…)

If she doesn’t, well, I’ll deal.  My brother didn’t become a Coug and I still love him ;) LOL

Anywho… as I’m waiting for the little lady, I decided to make her a car seat cover!  I had to get creative because when I bought fabric there wasn’t quite enough red polka dot to make one whole side, so I pieced it together with the grey so it could be on both sides!  I rather like how the striped effect turned out!

If you want to make your own car seat cover, I followed these instructions, and would highly recommend them!  Still considering myself somewhat of a beginner-sewer I found them very easy to follow!

And as much as I generally despise ric-rac (ask my mom… it makes me gag on most clothing, i swear)… I actually liked this jumbo ric-rac for the trim.  I think because once finished it just looks like a wavy border :)

Now, hopefully this will actually get put to use really SOON!!

Sam
