Get Linked: What’s Making Me Happy Today

I think Sam’s “Happy Colors” blog color-scheme change yesterday is so fun! We are on the same wavelength when it comes to spring color this year! When I chose this picture to use today, I didn’t realize it was almost a perfect match :)

Here are a few fresh and energizing things that have caught my eye around the inter-tubes lately!

This poster is awesome. The saying, the colors, the graphics. My inspiration for the month of April. http://brewedtogether.blogspot.com/2013/04/invent-your-future.html

Lots of yummy flavors and textures, including radishes, in this avocado-dressed veg and fruit mixture. Although this recipe is from two years ago, it suits me just fine this year. Gorgeous radishes — those spicy little red spheres that only the older generations ate — have finally found their place in my kitchen. (Maybe that’s because I’m now one of the older generation ;) but you may not repeat that!) http://www.fitsugar.com/Jicama-Radish-Salad-Avocado-Yogurt-Dressing-Recipe-16798860

I’ve always wanted something special to do with baby artichokes. This looks delicious!!! Must find black quinoa for this recipe though, for the right texture and flavor: nuttier and firmer.  http://summertomato.com/pan-roasted-baby-artichokes-with-pistachios-lemon-and-black-quinoa-recipe/

This needs no words. Just go look :)  http://diana212m.blogspot.com/2012/06/chocolate-smores-cookie.html

by Fendi. I have made cubes like this for a juggling club! Love this idea for this wristlet :) The metallic fabrics give it instant flair.  http://www.harpersbazaar.com/fashion/fashion-articles/spring-shoes-purses-jewelry-2013#slide-31

by Ralph Lauren. A strangely sophisticated kindergarten-strung-beads look. Could this be something to do with all those leftover beads from other projects?   http://www.harpersbazaar.com/fashion/fashion-articles/spring-shoes-purses-jewelry-2013#slide-42

I just might have to make this spool quilt for my (hope-to-have) window seat/bench/bed in my revamped Studio! Even though I dislike sewing repeated blocks, these would go together quickly.  My colors and fabrics, though, PLEASE… green-teal, pale yellow, fucshia, black.  https://hoffmanfabrics.com/EDocs/Site10/Modern%20Spools%20quilt%20pattern.pdf

Soon the rhododendrons and azaleas will pop their blossoms open here in western WA, and that is also inspiring to me! Flashy color and sunshine really energize me!

What’s your thing this spring?
